The local, national and global goals of STEM and STEM education will be explored, particularly in terms of the interplay with educational settings and other workplaces where STEM education is positioned to build learner capacity and confidence to make informed choices on complex matters. STEM literacy is also explored as part of the core capabilities which enable a population to identify, apply, and integrate STEM concepts to understand complex problems and to innovate solutions. In this unit, you will undertake both independent and collaborative study. Understanding opportunities and challenges associated with STEM education will require you to develop skills such as critical analysis, synthesis of complex information and an ability to work through problems and concepts particularly within policy and practitioner research contexts.
