Overview

This unit extends your counselling practice through a focus on two elements of professionalism: evidence-based and reflective practice. In this unit, you will examine applied and academic research and evaluation in relation to mental health issues and counselling, and evaluate the quality of, and approaches used to gather, research evidence. Over the course of this unit you will also reflect and draw on your current or previous clinical professional experience, consolidating your skill in understanding and selecting traditional and innovative (digital) evidence-based assessments and interventions. You have the opportunity to develop your skills in self-reflection relating to your own professional development as counsellors.
