Overview
Effective online learning experiences require the careful design of digital content including text, image, audio, video, animation, simulation, games, and even augmented and virtual realities. You will become familiar with theories, models and practical strategies in the most effective design of written content, images, video and other media. You will have opportunities to investigate new media and contemplate what effective content might look like in old and new platforms, including learning management systems, social media, mobile devices and even augmented and virtual reality platforms. In this unit you will develop skills which will allow you to apply your understanding of theory and design principles in the creation of learning assets, with a particular focus on key principles and techniques of video production and working with content experts. You will also explore essential knowledge for any content developer, including regulatory and ethical issues, such as intellectual property and copyright.
