Synopsis
This unit will prepare you to move into organisations and society more broadly as a professional engineer. It will provide insights and strategies that will enable a successful transition from academic studies through an understanding and application of business and industry practices, in an engineering context. You will gain an understanding of the principles of social, economic and environmental sustainability as a driver for management, utilising tools including the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Relevant legal issues will be covered. This will be drawn together in discussing the role of the professional engineer, including risk management, safety, ethical behaviour and decision-making.
