Overview

Data smart companies are capitalising on big data to enrich offerings to the consumers. Embracing and managing data is hence an essential prerequisite for creating a competitive advantage in the digital knowledge economy. This unit will introduce students to the data warehouse architecture and business process integration in an enterprise context. Students will learn essential statistical methods of business intelligence and machine learning to leverage data as a strategic asset for better business decisions. These methods include classical and modern descriptive and predictive analytics. Students will be able to understand business issues, perform data wrangling, recognise trends or patterns, apply hands-on analysis, and communicate insights for business applications.

When you finish this unit, you should be able to:

Workload and teaching
