For students enrolled in E3001, E3002, E3005, E3010, E3011, E3007 completing the Software Engineering specialisation: FIT3171.

Knowledge of relational database principles, including SQL.

Overview

This unit explores advanced database technologies, focusing on two key technologies: (i) Data Engineering, covering data transformation, cleaning, data warehouse architecture, and efficient design and querying for analytical tasks. (ii) Emerging Database Technologies, including introducing geospatial data, geospatial DBMS features, spatial data modelling, indexing, querying, and visualization techniques.
