Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of directed learning activities and independent study. The unit will have a minimum of 6 hours of directed learning activities per week, including a combination of teacher directed learning (seminars and workshops), peer directed learning and online engagement
An additional 6 hours will be spent in independent study (library searches, reading and preparation of assignments).

Much of the workshop content is delivered using an enquiry-based learning approach, where you are asked to engage with the learning process and question and critique the topics.

You will have repeated opportunities to work in pairs or small groups to help each other learn and build upon their own learning through discussions with their peers.

Several assessments and activities involve you being given a nutrition-related problem that you are required to work through, research and provide a solution to.

Learning activities are designed to encourage you to develop skills in analysis and critical thinking and to apply your knowledge across different topics.

This unit will be taught using a combination of online and 'face-to-face' teaching, in a flipped classroom style. You will complete pre- and post-class online learning content that supports the learning taking place in 'face-to-face' teaching.
