Synopsis
This unit introduces you to the foundational techniques of glass working and glass blowing, along with finishing methods relevant to contemporary Fine Art or Design. You will develop technical skills through hands-on assignments and project-based activities in both hot and cold glass workshops. Teamwork is key, as you work to build technical abilities, explore new materials, and engage in critical reflection. You will also examine the history and modern applications of hot glass working through seminars and independent research. Additionally, the unit considers the environmental impact of glass production.
