Overview
This unit covers a range of design theories and practices that underpin an understanding of sustainability in its threefold nature: environmental, social, and economic. It offers insight into grasping the interconnectedness of design implications and sustainability imperatives by presenting real-world examples and design applications. Various perspectives on production and consumption are considered to understand the dynamics of economic and social exchange. The outcomes will focus on different areas of impact and may result in the design of products, services, and/or experiences, in particular in relation to Sustainable Development Goals 2, 10, 11, and 12.
