AI for lawyers: Practical applications and theory
LAW4545
Synopsis
This unit examines the integration of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) into legal practice, focusing on both present applications and future possibilities. This unit’s focus is not about the regulatory environment for AI, it is about the ways in which AI is being used in the world outside of law school. Designed as a practical and interdisciplinary bridge between doctrinal law and professional skills, the unit explores how emerging technologies are transforming legal workplaces and reshaping the profession’s operational landscape. Within the unit, both individually and as part of a team, you will use and will develop a deeper understanding of appropriate uses of AI in law and will critically engage and reflect on those uses.
