Overview

This unit develops your capability in contract review within contemporary legal and commercial contexts. It focuses on the analysis of contractual structure, the identification and evaluation of legal and commercial risk, and the formulation of clear and effective drafting and negotiation responses.

You will engage with a range of commercial contract scenarios and learn to assess key clauses relating to risk allocation, performance obligations, and liability. The unit emphasises the development of structured approaches to contract analysis, including the use of contract review playbooks.

A central feature of the unit is the integration of AI-assisted tools to support contract review. You will critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and develop the capacity to exercise independent professional judgment in interpreting, refining, and applying those outputs.
