Overview
Royal Commissions and public inquiries play a significant role in exposing corruption, governance failures and wrongdoing. This unit is designed to equip students to understand the functioning of royal commissions and public inquiries and to deal with them from different perspectives. It will examine key features of the functioning of commissions and public inquiries, including the rules regulating their powers and processes and contemporary policy issues generated by their reports. The unit has a contemporary nature and will focus on current issues and case studies.

Students enrolled in this unit will be provided with 24 contact hours of seminars per semester whether intensive, semi-intensive, or semester-long offering.
