Overview
This unit will introduce you to working in globalised and transnational contexts, deepening your understanding of the impact of digital technologies in professional practice, including legal practice. You will explore the origin of transnational practice, highlighting the importance of today's professionals engaging in global practice. You will be considering ethical problems and responsibilities arising in an international work context, before moving onto an overview of the domestic legal systems of important players in the international legal arena. A discussion of the impact of global legal and professional practice on diverse communities within the legal community will encourage you to think of the larger socio-economic implications of cross-border and even borderless practice.
