It introduces the key concepts, frameworks, and theoretical foundations necessary for leaders without accounting backgrounds to work effectively with the organisation’s accounting professionals. Specifically, the unit introduces contemporary accounting practices to improve organisational performance, which is defined in increasingly broader terms by enlightened societies. To deepen and extend understanding, the unit introduces a series of forces - technological, social, environmental, economic, and geopolitical – which will shape the practice of accounting in the future.
