Overview

This unit explores contemporary management practices associated with the engagement, development and performance of people in organisations in light of an increasingly digital and dynamic business environment. You will learn established theory and techniques for managing people and culture, extending this foundational knowledge with further exploration into people analytics, models and methods to generate insights for decision-making. Specific areas of focus include the adoption of digital technologies (e.g. systems, media, and platforms) in people management, the integration of AI systems in the performance of work, and new dynamics in the relationship between organisations and workers. The unit provides you with an opportunity to deepen your learning and build a portfolio of successful projects. Specifically, you will work in virtual teams and employ your understanding of digital strategies, data use, design thinking and agile methods to arrive at a set of findings about the current and future state of people management.

Workload and teaching
