Design for additive manufacturing
MEC5891
Synopsis
Additive manufacturing allows components to be produced with reduced weight, reduced part count, less scrap, and increased complexity compared to conventional manufacturing processes. However, components must be redesigned to take advantage of these advantages. This unit introduces you to the principles of design for additive manufacturing; the optimisation of designs; and the practical design-to-product workflow.
