Synopsis

This unit provides an overview of the strategic, economic, political and legal environment in which business operates at the global level. It considers the role that individuals, organisations and governments play in the operation of the market both domestically and internationally. The focus of this unit will be to investigate the political economy of the contemporary world and the context that underpins managerial decision making. To this end, you will examine the myriad of global and domestic issues challenging the pursuit of sustainable business practice as a precursor to more specific units that help inform the management of business operations.
