In this unit you will explore the fundamental principles of diagnostics and screening relevant to midwifery practice. Throughout this unit you will look at ways in which to apply critical reasoning to contemporary midwifery practice in relation to diagnostic and screening responsibilities. This unit will equip you with essential knowledge and skills to initiate referral for diagnostic and screening procedures effectively and interpret results accurately. Emphasising evidence-based approaches, you will explore legal and ethical considerations, effective communication strategies and collaborative practice across the broader health system to provide women-centred care within the midwifery scope of practice.
