Thermofluids 1
MMA2003
Synopsis
This unit introduces the principles of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, laying the groundwork for analysing hydrostatic systems, internal flow systems, external fluid dynamics, and common thermodynamic systems. You will develop an understanding of key fluid and thermodynamic properties such as density, pressure, temperature, viscosity, momentum, energy, and entropy. This understanding will be applied through thermofluid principles including the thermodynamic and conservation laws, property relationships, dimensional analysis, equilibrium, Bernoulli’s theorem, and energy equations.
