Mathematics master project
MTH5000
Synopsis
The master project, which can be academic or industrial, is the capstone unit of the degree. It involves individual work, under supervisor's guidance, on an open topic. To conduct this project, you have to draw on the knowledge assimilated in other units, and possibly to develop additional skills in a few relevant areas. A substantial report has to be produced, and the main outcomes are presented in the form of a seminar.
Sourced from the Monash Handbook 2026.
