Overview

In this unit you will develop advanced skills in managing complex non-healing wounds and associated pain through application of pathophysiological principles to guide clinical decision-making. This knowledge will enable you to formulate comprehensive evidence-based assessments of patients with non-healing wounds and wound-related pain to optimize their care outcomes. Learning opportunities will enhance your ability to evaluate holistic, evidence-based approaches for the distinct management of complex wound presentations and pain syndromes. You will also develop sophisticated communication skills to effectively convey complex wound care concepts and navigate ethical principles when engaging with diverse audiences including patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The skills and knowledge that you will develop in this unit are essential for advanced wound care practice and underpin your ability to manage the most challenging wound care scenarios with clinical expertise and ethical integrity.
