Synopsis

This unit introduces you to advanced, evidence-based, clinically relevant palliative care practices to support patients; families and carers to facilitate quality and dignity at the end of life. This unit prepares you to work collaboratively with interprofessional teams across specialist and other care settings.
You will develop a deeper understanding of local, national and international palliative and end of life care contexts; models of care; end of life communication; cultural and religious considerations; loss, grief and bereavement; medico-legal, and ethical issues; and care of professional carers.
