Healthcare across the lifespan
NUR5010
Synopsis
This unit introduces you to nursing across the lifespan in a variety of healthcare settings. Founded in person and family centred care and evidence-based practice principles, the milestones and transitional periods across people's lives are explored. Socio-political and psychosocial factors that influence well-being and access to, and provision of healthcare are considered. Nursing roles and different models of care in terms of the changing needs of people across the lifespan, including those living with disability, chronic conditions, dementia and people requiring end of life care are examined.
Sourced from the Monash Handbook 2026.
