Overview
This unit will focus on mental health nurses’ most foundational forms of communication. The unit will focus on your capacity to be fully present, actively and appreciatively listen, reflexively understand, and sensitively explore your interactions and conversations with service users and their carers and families. You will learn to enhance micro-counselling skills, expand therapeutic communication and tolerate uncertainty in everyday clinical practice. Common factors in psychotherapy will be explored. This unit will support you to continue developing your counselling skills through reflective practice.
