When you finish this unit, you should be able to:

    Compare and contrast the anatomy and physiology of adults and children

    Describe embryonic development of major body systems and identify the physiological changes involved in transition to extrauterine life

    Describe the aetiology, pathophysiology, and clinical manifestations of a range of diseases/conditions observed in children and neonates

  4. 4

    Analyse principles of nursing management of sick children and neonates

  5. 5

    Analyse the genetic and hereditary influences on child health

Workload and teaching

  • 6 x 8 hour teacher directed in-class workshops per semester (48 hours)

  • 2 hours of Apply self-directed study per workshop (12 hours)
