Nutrition and mental health

NUT1030

Synopsis

1 in every 8 people worldwide is living with a mental health disorder and the rate is expected to double, despite advances in technology and research. In the recent  systematic literature search, evidence has indicated that nutrients potentially could promote and contribute to improvements in mental well-being. This unit will introduce several leading mental health problems and provide insights into how food components can influence mental well-being. You will develop skills to analyse and apply knowledge gathered on the role of nutrition in mental health.
