Project management for organisational innovation
OPO5002
Synopsis
Organisational innovation and new product/service development are particularly challenging for project management. Such projects are volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. As such, they require project managers to engage in various project management tools, techniques and change management approaches. This unit will explore the need for project managers to develop bespoke practices that address the unique requirements of innovation-driven projects. With a focus on design thinking, including the combination and re-combination of disparate techniques, in teams, you will evaluate the requirements of a specific (disruptive) innovation and propose a unique project design using emerging technologies to achieve the organisation’s goals.
