Overview
Organisational innovation and new product/service development are particularly challenging for project management. Such projects are volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. As such, they require project managers to engage a range of project management techniques. This unit will explore the need for project managers to develop bespoke approaches which address the unique requirements of innovation-driven projects. With a focus on design thinking, including the combination and re-combination of disparate techniques, you will evaluate the requirements of a specific (disruptive) innovation and propose a unique project design to achieve the organisation’s goals.
