Synopsis
In this unit you will be introduced to public health and the Australian healthcare system, exploring population health, social determinants, and health promotion. You will develop an understanding of how biopsychosocial and environmental factors influence health outcomes and apply professional communication strategies with diverse communities.
Using case studies relevant to paramedic practice, you will examine aged care, disability, mental health, and acute care. The unit will also cover healthcare system structure, policies, funding, and interprofessional collaboration to support effective, holistic care and improved patient outcomes.
