Podiatry clinical practice 4
POD5240
Synopsis
Through supervised practice, you will have the opportunity to apply your podiatry knowledge and skills in assessment, treatment and patient education, whilst working as part of a larger health care team. You will be exposed to professional, ethical and legal aspects of podiatry care and you will have opportunities to develop technical, clinical, personal and professional skills.
This unit will help you understand the role of the podiatrist as an important member of multidisciplinary care teams. You will complete a clinical placement in either an acute, subacute/ rehabilitation or community-based setting, where you will apply evidence-based practice in the decision-making process.
Further to this, you will build your knowledge and experience to develop the competencies required for independent practice as a podiatrist. You will analyse patient transitions through health services and use audits to improve clinical practice.
