Overview

This unit is designed to enable students to successfully complete a small - scale research informed project identified and approved in the unit POM5105 and intended to resolve an issue within the practice of perioperative medicine. The unit enables students to demonstrate their ability to synthesise their learning across the units comprising the course and apply it to the resolution of work - based challenges. Engagement in this unit will also facilitate the achievement by students of a range of transferable research informed skills of value and relevance to the practice setting and the advancement of the discipline.

Learning outcomes

When you finish this unit, you should be able to:

Workload and teaching

This unit will be on-line only. The workload requirement will be 10-12 hours per week (on average).

Weekly workload consists of continued development of a project, researching relevant current evidence, compiling a comprehensive and fully referenced literature review relevant to the project topic, and completion of the capstone project. Students will be expected to show evidence of their progress via a learning journey platform (PebblePad).
