Overview
Person-centred communication skills are fundamental to supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing. In this unit you will develop and demonstrate evidence informed strategies for building high-quality and person-centred professional connections. Through a combination of analytic and experiential activities, you will explore the principles of trauma-aware and culturally-safe communication and strategies for identifying and responding to people experiencing mental health and wellbeing challenges. Opportunities will be provided to consider values, beliefs, and biases in interpersonal communication.
