Synopsis
Based on the scientist-practitioner model, the practice of psychology is evidence-based, requiring competence in the critical analysis of research literature, and knowledge of appropriate research methodologies.
This unit will help you to develop this skill set and culminates in the submission of a research project. Your research project will be conducted under the guidance of an academic supervisor.
You will be offered key seminars throughout the unit to provide additional support and guidance. These will assist you to develop an understanding of how research findings can be translated into policy, applied knowledge, and improved treatments, whilst developing essential research communication skills in a range of media for diverse audiences.
In this unit you will collect and analyse data, and interpret and communicate these results in written and oral formats to audiences including academics, psychologists, and non-psychologists.
