Overview
Working with data, and interpreting analyses presented in other papers, is an essential part of any research project. Yet there are many paths available for analysing data. This unit will introduce you to cutting‐edge analysis methods used in neuroscience and psychology. The overall goals of this unit are to make you aware of the methods that exist and to empower you in applying them. Lessons will cover methods including cluster and factor analyses, time series analysis, computational models, qualitative analysis, (multi-level) regression models, and machine learning. Content will be presented in a modular, interactive workshop format, using modern statistical software, to provide you with a functional understanding of each method. Students have the flexibility to choose which workshops to attend, based on their research project. Optional extension materials will be provided for students who wish to gain mastery in any particular method as they continue with their research. Assessments will allow you to explore the potential for different analysis methods in the context of your research project.
