Overview
This unit allows you the opportunity to select and conduct an independent physiotherapy research project over a 12-month period under academic supervision. Building on previous knowledge of ethical research conduct, and exposure to a range of clinical practice challenges in years one and two of the course, you will be supported to define their research question, determine research method, data collection and analysis. Dissemination of research findings will include both an oral and written report.
You will will be supported by an academic research supervisor relevant to their area of study for the duration of the research project.

Workload and teaching
You are expected to complete:
On-campus: Fortnightly supervisor/student meetings (one-hour duration) are expected throughout the year, however there is the option for these meetings to be conducted face to face or via video conferencing. You are also required to participate in a one-week block of campus-based study that will include a one-day research symposium at the completion of this unit.
Off-campus: This unit is predominately completed off-campus, although the location of data collection will impact on location of work. An average of twelve hours of assisted and/or independent work per week is expected over each semester.
