Synopsis
This unit is the second of two units that teach concepts related to professional practice and patient care in the radiation sciences professions.
You will critically analyse the concept of professional regulation and you will explore codes of conduct and professional guidelines health professionals.
This unit will also include an introduction to legal and ethical aspects related to working in the health professions, with a focus on medical radiations practice.
Communication and reflective practice will be explored and you will develop these skills and apply them in a simulated environment.
Occupational health and safety, manual handling and infection control will also be covered together with application of the skills in a simulated environment.
You will build on your previously developed cultural competence and understanding of inter-professional practice with a focus on managing patients with different needs.
