Overview
This elective unit in the Master of Advanced Radiation Therapy Practice is designed to meet your needs as a Radiation Therapist seeking to advance your knowledge and skills in the clinical application of adaptive radiation therapy.
The development of advanced professional skills will enable you to lead the design, implementation and evaluation of adaptive radiation therapy programs, in line with contemporary legal and ethical health care principles.
Using a blended learning approach, advanced knowledge and skills in context with ART will be developed and applied to the clinical practice environment. You will study theory related to professional practice and service delivery. A clinical practice framework for work-integrated learning will scaffold the development of advanced clinical skills related to ART planning, dosimetry, treatment delivery, clinical governance, patient care and safety. You will use your current workplace to develop and be assessed on a range of advanced clinical skills relating to ART, in addition to a three week (or equivalent) compulsory clinical placement at a Monash University approved clinical centre of excellence.
