Co-requisite: Enrolment in S3002 and completion of 24 credit points of Level 1 units with a Distinction average in all Science units completed.

Pre-requisite: Written permission from the unit coordinator is required to enrol in this unit.

Overview

This unit will introduce you to undertaking a research project in one of the core disciplines in science. You will work with an academic supervisor on either an experimental or theoretical project. You will develop research skills including reviewing and critically analysing literature, project management, data gathering and analysis, and communication of scientific results in both an oral and written format.

An average of 12 hours of study per week during semester or a total of 144 hours throughout the project which is split between supervisor meetings, research group meetings, independent research, collaborative research and work towards completion of assessments.  The proportions of time spent on these different aspects of the research work will vary during the semester.
