Synopsis

This unit is designed to introduce aspiring scientists to the principles of laboratory and risk management, with a focus on your responsibilities as future experts and supervisors. It explores key legislative framework and the duties of both employers and employees in areas such as occupational health and safety; the handling of dangerous goods and the analysis, treatment and disposal of hazardous materials. Emphasis is placed on the assessment and management of these risks within a laboratory settings.
