SON5030 is a 0-credit point capstone unit that supports you in consolidating and demonstrating the capabilities required for entry into professional sonographic practice. The unit does not include scheduled lectures, tutorials or practical classes.

You will continue to engage in supervised workplace learning within your approved clinical training site while undertaking independent preparation through case review, reflective practice, revision of course resources and incorporation of supervisor feedback. The Professional Accreditation Clinical Competency Assessment (PACCA) is completed within your approved clinical training site through direct observation of authentic clinical practice by an approved independent assessor. The Online Objective Structured Clinical Assessment (OOSCA) is conducted by Monash University and evaluates clinical reasoning, communication, professional judgement and decision-making through authentic clinical scenarios.

As a capstone unit, workload is determined by your individual preparation, workplace learning activities and completion of the required assessment tasks. No additional scheduled contact hours are required.
