Overview

This specialisation engages with the key issues and debates relating to digital technology in education and the application of effective educational technology practices for learning. With a focus on online teaching and learning, you will learn how to adapt digital technologies effectively in teaching and learning across school, tertiary, workplace and community settings. Additionally, educational issues relating to emerging technologies and practices, such as social media, artificial intelligence, data mining, digital games, mobile devices, virtual worlds and augmented reality, will also be explored.

A pathway to graduate research (e.g. master by research, PhD) is available if you achieve a weighted average mark of at least 75% in the units of this course. PLEASE NOTE: This pathway is not available at the point of course entry; if undertaking the graduate research pathway, you must enrol in EDF5613 and EDF5614; your eligibility to undertake this pathway will be checked prior to the commencement of EDF5613; if you are commencing at entry level 1 or 2, you must take the required two units in Part C of your studies; if you are commencing at entry level 3, you must transfer into the general education studies specialisation.
