Overview

Designed for early childhood educators, leaders and policy makers, this specialisation, is aimed at enhancing your skills, knowledge and practice within the early childhood sector. Addressing contemporary, emerging elements, within an increasing globalised world, you will build capacity to engage with complex, relevant dialogue in the field. Your professional capacity will be enhanced as you respond to multifaceted issues relating to children, families and communities. You will be provided with opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge of inclusive teaching and learning practices as they relate to young children. This specialisation will allow you to interact academically with innovative curriculum, teaching and policy within early childhood contexts.

You must complete 12 credit points of approved level 4/5 units from the following Faculty of Education graduate coursework programs: - D4005 Graduate Certificate of STEM Education - D6002 Master of Education - D6005 Master of TESOL - D6013 Master of Educational Leadership - D6015 Master of Applied Behaviour Analysis AND the units listed below.

Option 2 - Pathway to graduate research

24 credit points
A pathway to graduate research (e.g. master by research, PhD) is available if you have achieved a weighted average mark of at least 75% in the units of this course. PLEASE NOTE: If you are invited into this pathway, you must enrol in the units listed below; if you are invited into this pathway and have been admitted into the course at entry level 3, you must transfer into the general education studies specialisation; on-campus attendance is required for this pathway; and this pathway is not available at the point of entry.
