The handbook's description of this structure
The course is structured in three parts: Part A. Advanced preparatory, Part B. Mastery knowledge and Part C. Application studies.
All students complete Part A, B and C.
Part A. Advanced preparatory
These units will equip you with business foundation skills and knowledge, examining accounting, law, economics and statistics. These units allow you to consolidate foundation knowledge for further professional accounting studies.
Part B. Mastery knowledge
These units will develop your capacity as a critical accounting professional able to apply your knowledge of a specialisation to provide discipline-based solutions to professional accounting environments.
Part C. Application studies
The focus of these studies is professional or scholarly work that can contribute to a portfolio of professional development and give you the skills to practice effectively as an accountant.

The course comprises 96 points structured into three parts: Part A. Advanced preparatory studies (24 points), Part B. Mastery knowledge (60 points) and Part C. Application studies (12 points).
Units are 6 points unless otherwise indicated.
Part A. Advanced preparatory studies (24 points)
You must complete:

- ACF5950 Introduction to financial accounting
- ECF5953 Economics
- ETF5900 Business statistics
Part B. Mastery knowledge (60 points)
You must complete:
a. Nine units (54 points):
- ACF5100 Strategic management accounting
- ACF5904 Accounting information systems
- ACF5953 Financial accounting
- ACF5955 Management accounting
- ACF5956 Advanced financial accounting
- ACF5957 Auditing and assurance
- BFF5954 Business finance
- BTF5955 Business and company law
- BTF5965 Taxation law
b. A capstone experience, being one unit (6 point minimum) from the following:
- ACF5510 Integrated accounting
- ACX5951 International study program in accounting
- BEX5001 Industry placement
- BEX5012 Industry placement (12 points)*
* As this is a 12-point unit, students who complete this unit as their capstone experience will only need to complete one unit (6 points) for Part C.
Part C. Application studies (12 points)
You must complete two units (12 points) of electives from the following list providing you have met the pre-requisites:

IELTS: 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or
TOEFL Paper-based test: 550 with a TWE of 4.5; or
TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or
Equivalent approved English test
