Overview
The Master of Commerce provides pre-doctoral training for high-achieving students who intend to pursue a Monash PhD. The course comprises advanced coursework and research methodology training designed to prepare you to undertake deep and effective doctoral research when you transition to the PhD. During the course, you will design and undertake independent research in your specialisation, working closely with a supervisor who will provide individual guidance and academic advice.
The Master of Commerce is the compulsory doctoral pathway for the Banking and finance specialisation.
The Master of Commerce is the preferred doctoral pathway for the following specialisations:
- Accounting
- Econometrics and business statistics
- Economics
- Health economics
- Management
- Marketing studies
Upon successful completion of the Master of Commerce, students may progress to the PhD program in the relevant discipline, subject to meeting selection standards.
