Overview

This specialisation will prepare you for undertaking PhD research in the discipline of Marketing. You will develop a deep understanding of the academic approaches in Marketing through coursework units that will train you for successful doctoral research. The rigorous training includes contemporary research methods. You will put the theories and methods training into practice by designing and conducting an academically robust research project. As part of the Department of Marketing, you will have the opportunity to work with a range of academic staff and can refine your individual research aspirations for the doctoral program.

You must complete 96 credit points comprising:
- 48 credit points of Core research studies; and
- 48 credit points of Advanced research studies.
Part A. Core research studies48 credit points
You must complete 48 credit points comprising:
- 42 credit points of units at Level 4 and 5 from Marketing, to be chosen in consultation with the Course director. These units may be selected from the recommended list below; and
- one elective unit (6 credit points) at Level 3 or above, which may be chosen from the Faculty of Business and Economics or across the University as long as you have the prerequisites and there are no restrictions on enrolling in the unit, as approved by the Course Director.
Part B. Advanced research studies48 credit points
You must complete 48 credit points comprising:
- the following units (30 credit points); and
- one Specified research methods elective unit (6 credit points); and
- 12 credit points of electives at Level 5, as approved by the course director.
