In the age of disruption, strategic managers face relentless pressure to keep pace with an increasingly digital and dynamic business environment. The Master of Business Administration (Digital) provides the knowledge and skills you need now, coupled with the strategies and methods you need to stay informed, relevant and current as an uncertain future unfolds. In this degree, you will be equipped to:
- lead the adoption of new technologies and perspectives across business operations
- make innovative and informed strategic choices in light of changes in the economic, political, and environmental context of business
- maintain currency with on-going changes in business practice for the balance of your career.
The course comprises 12 units: six Operational Knowledge units covering contemporary practice across the primary functions of any organisation; three Organisational Skills units including Strategic Management, Leadership, and Innovation; and three Professional Skills units including methods for Currency and Lifelong Learning, Career Advancement, and Professional Community Development.

The handbook's description of this structure
This course is structured in three parts Part A. Operational knowledge, Part B. Organisational skills, Part C. Professional skills.
Part A. Operational knowledge
These units provide ample coverage of theory, models and contemporary practice across the key business functions of contemporary organisations. They are designed to provide foundational knowledge of each subject area and extend the knowledge to contemporary practices that emphasise digitalisation, the strategic use of data, virtual teamwork, design thinking, and agile project methods.
Part B. Organisational skills
The focus of these units is to develop deep understanding and advanced practice in the three key organisational skills required by strategic managers: strategic management, leadership and innovation. Each of these skillsets is examined in the context of a contemporary movement: the emergence of new organisational forms, sustainable development and digital transformation. In contrast to the other nine MBusAdmin (Digital) units, the Organisational Skills units will make significant use of synchronous learning (24 hours of synchronous learning in each unit).
Part C. Professional advancement
The focus of these studies is to develop the strategies and tactics necessary for you to thrive in an increasingly digital, dynamic and uncertain business environment. The units include methods for maintaining currency through lifelong learning, building your professional communities, and honing your direction and purpose for career advancement.
Master's entry points
Depending on prior qualifications you may receive entry level credit (a form of block credit) which determines your point of entry to the course:
- If you are admitted at entry level 1 you complete 72 credit points, comprising of Part A, Part B and Part C
- If you are admitted at entry level 2 you complete 48 credit points, comprising 24 credit points from Part A and 12 credit points from both Part B and Part C.

Part A. Operational knowledge (36 credit Points)
You must complete the following six units (36 credit points)

- MBO5006 Governance, continuity and crisis management
Part B. Organisational skills (18 credit points)
You must complete the following three units (18 credit points)

- MBO5008 Leadership for sustainable development
- MBO5009 Innovation and change for digital transformation
Part C. Professional Advancement (18 credit points)
You must complete at least one of the following three professional skills units (6 credit points)

- MBO5010 Currency and lifelong learning
- MBO5011 Direction, purpose and career advancement
- MBO5012 Connection, communication and community
You must complete at least one of the three Professional Skills units listed below. Depending on the number of Professional skills units you complete (one, two, or all three), you may complete up to 12 credit points of electives from the broad range of units offered across the Monash Online programs. Please note that enrolment in some advanced subject units require prerequisites and enrolment in some other units may be restricted.
