The handbook's description of this structure
The course is structured in two parts: Part A. Mastery knowledge and Part B. Application studies.
Part A. Mastery knowledge
These units will provide you with a comprehensive study of core marketing topics and impacts on marketing within organisations. You will gain an appreciation of key concepts and contemporary practice to develop your capacity to operate as a critical and creative professional.
These units will advance your knowledge and skill development, and provide you with specialist professional insights and advanced practical skills that can be applied in marketing.
Part B. Electives
These units will enable you to further develop and consolidate your knowledge of your degree. Electives may be taken from study tours, consulting projects or industry placements. Alternatively you can select units from across the University in which you are eligible to enrol.
Master's entry points
Depending on prior qualifications you may receive entry level credit (a form of block credit) which determines your point of entry to the course:
- If you are admitted at entry level 1 you complete 72 credit points, comprising Part A and Part B.
- If you are admitted at entry level 2 you complete 48 credit points, comprising Part A .
Note: Students eligible for credit for prior studies may elect not to receive the credit and complete the higher credit-point option.

Part A. Mastery knowledge (48 credit points)
a. You must complete the following four units (30 credit points):
- MKF5917 Driving organisational value through marketing
- MKF5741 Using marketing analytics for better decision making
- MKF5760 Shaping ethical marketplaces
- MKF5351 Marketing strategy masterclass (12 credit points)
b. You must complete three units (18 credit points) from the following:
- MKF5150 Major project (12 credit points)
- MKF5231 Establishing and building strong brands
- MKF5371 Managing business networks
- MKF5403 Advanced business research methods
- MKF5461 Contemporary issues in marketing
- MKF5601 Social media marketing
- MKF5761 Managing distribution channels
- MKF5801 Customer focused innovation
- MKX5521 Global study programs in marketing
Part B. Electives (24 credit points)
You must complete 24 credit points of electives at either level 4 or 5 from the Faculty of Business and Economics, which could include study tours, consulting projects or industry placements. In addition you may choose units that were not completed in Part A, or from across the University as long as you have met the prerequisites and there are no restrictions on enrolling in the units.

Monash Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test
