Course structure

Master of Management48 credit points
Master of Public Policy and Management48 credit points
You must complete 48 credit points, including 30 credit points of the requirements in Part A and 18 credit points of the requirements in Part C for the Master of Public Policy and Management.

If you are undertaking the double degree with Master of Management, you cannot undertake the Research pathway in the Master of Public Policy and Management.

Part C. Specified elective studies

You must complete 18 credit points of public policy and management related studies from the following elective units.. You may also take units in Part A not already completed.

Master of Management

The Master of Management is structured in three parts: Part A. Core studies, Part B. Discipline studies and Part C. Elective studies. In this double degree course you will complete: 

Part A. Core studies

These units will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of core management principles, contemporary practice and leadership and their impact on multi-discipline decision-making in organisations. These units will develop your capacity as an innovative future-ready professional who is able to apply specialist knowledge to complex management issues.

Part B. Discipline studies

These units develop your capacity as a critical and creative professional who can apply advanced management knowledge to analyse complex organisational issues. You will build the skills to evaluate theories, apply evidence-based practices, and design innovative solutions that enhance leadership, strategy, and sustainable performance in diverse organisational contexts. Selected units within this part are accredited by the Australian HR Institute (AHRI).

Master of Public Policy and Management

The Master of Public Policy and Management is structured into three parts: Part A: Core studies, Part B: Applied studies and Part C: Specified elective studies. In this double degree course you will complete:

Part A. Core studies

These studies will introduce you to public policy and management theory and practice at an advanced graduate level. Throughout these studies, you will gain practical knowledge and skills that will provide a solid foundation for the specialist studies units undertaken in the program.  

Part C. Specified elective studies

The focus of these units is to develop your expertise in public policy and management studies. These will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed for the capacity to work and communicate across the borders of context or discipline.

You must complete 96 credit points, of which 48 points are from the Master of Management (including all the requirements in Part A and Part B for the single degree) and 48 credit points from the Master of Public Policy and Management (including 30 credit points of the requirements in Part A and 18 credit points of the requirements in Part C for the single degree). 

Students undertaking the Double degree with Master of Management cannot undertake the Research pathway in the Master of Public Policy and Management.
