Overview
The Master of Civil Engineering is designed to fulfill a growing need for professionals with a broad awareness of civil engineering including new technological advancements in city infrastructure. The course outlines the state-of-the-art of computational analysis, information management, design and planning, as applied to the solution of real problems. The course is aimed at giving you a thorough understanding of the necessary fundamental knowledge and specialist skills so that you can appraise and evaluate solutions to complex infrastructure problems encountered in civil engineering.
This international double masters program enables you to complete the requirements of the Monash Master of Civil Engineering as well as the second degree with Southeast University.

The course is structured in two parts: Part A. Advanced expertise and Part B. Civil engineering
Part A. Advanced expertise
The advanced expertise units are taken within the partner degree at Southeast University Suzhou and recorded as block credit for this course.
Part B. Civil engineering studies
You will analyse and critically evaluate current advancements and technologies in civil engineering while applying this understanding to the field. Additionally, you will undertake an independent self-guided research project aimed at advancing the body of knowledge in the discipline.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that you will be able to:

Monash Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test
