The course comprises 48 credit points structured in two parts: Part A. Core studies (36 credit points) and Part B Specified elective studies (12 credit points).

Part A. Core studies
These studies provide you with a comprehensive study of health management and administration, enabling you to gain advanced skills and knowledge. This includes areas of health system law, clinical leadership and management, quality improvement, financial management, health policy, and health systems.

Part B. Specified elective studies
These studies enable you to develop specialised knowledge and advanced skills in areas that suit your interests, skills and career goals.

Entry requirements

English language

Monash Level A, that is:  IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test

Progression to further studies

Successful completion of this course with a minimum weighted average mark of at least 60%, may provide a pathway to the Master of Health Management (M6008) or the Master of Public Health (M6024).
